Last updated on November 18, 2008

Keep and record hourly visitors' count. Ensure visitors observe restrictions in the facility, staffing reading room and monitor desk when needed.

Qualifications

Volunteer experience, especially library and museum work preferred. Interested in aviation a definite plus. No mandatory qualifications.

Training

Individual training given on first day of work. Group orientation to be scheduled. Will cover the background of San Francisco Airport museums, mission and organization of SFIA, public services provided by Aviation Library and Museum.

Benefits to Volunteer

Part of a team working with museums and library professionals, providing cultural and research opportunities to the traveling public and Airport community in a new and dynamic environment at an International Airport.

Comments

Volunteers should enjoy working with the public in this new facility, which is a contemplative environment - not as fast paced as the general airport passenger areas.
