Hispanic men and women are needed as mentors to youth in the Oakland and San Francisco areas.

Why?

• An abundance of male and female youth need role models,
• They need someone to talk to, spend time with, and look up to,
• They are looking for personal and career direction
  
  

• Commit 4 to 6 hours per month,
• Youth and mentors are paired in same-gender matches for at least one year,
• Training about working with youth
  
  

• Focus on school work,
• Explore higher education and careers,
• Go to movies, sporting events or museums, or
• Simply talk and be a friend.
  
  

Mentoring is one year commitment. Volunteers need to complete a background clearance and attend a training before being matched with a youth. The minimum age for mentoring is 21 years old.
