Last updated on October 3, 2008

KEEN is seeking dynamic and energetic volunteers to be paired up with young people ages 5 – 20 with disabilities to experience sports and just to have fun. KEEN activity sessions run for 3.5 hours on the 2nd and 4th Sunday afternoons of each month and 2 hours on the 3rd Sunday of each month. New volunteer orientation / training starts at 1:00 p.m. each KEEN Sunday.

“A KEEN parent once told me that the time I spend with his child is a gift to his child, but the truth is I am the one getting a gift!” – KEEN coach

KEEN's activities take place at the Embarcadero YMCA - 169 Steuart Street - in downtown San Francisco on the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Sundays of the month. Street parking is available, and the Embarcadero Y is easily accessible via BART and Muni.

Volunteers are not required to make a long-term commitment of time to KEEN and no previous experience working with people with disabilities is required; training will be provided on the day of the activity. Sign up the week before you plan to attend and we will put you on the coaches' list for that session. Minimum age for volunteers is 15 years old.
