We are looking for people who are interested in providing ongoing phone counseling to distressed parents. The TALK Line has offered a round-the-clock service for more than 35 years and is staffed by a community of skilled, caring volunteers who are professionally trained and supervised. It is one of the programs of an integrated set of clinical services, the TALK Line Family Support Center. Our clients, parents or guardians of minor children, are culturally and economically diverse. We work with them to help reduce their stresses, stabilize their families' lives, and encourage the development of their parenting skills.
50-hour training and weekly supervision provided. Minimum one-year commitment, about 24 hours per month. Minimum age of volunteer: 25.
