VOLUNTEER TUTORS NEEDED! TUTOR TRAINING WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 1
- DO YOU ENJOY WORKING WITH CHILDREN?
- CAN YOU SPARE ONE HOUR A WEEK TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIFE OF A CHILD?
If so, please consider attending the upcoming tutor training session and become a volunteer tutor with the San Carlos Healthy Cities Tutoring Program. Last year volunteer tutors worked with 224 students at six San Carlos schools and gave them the important one-on-one help that can make such a difference in a child's success in school. Volunteers are needed again this year and our waiting list is already building. Tutors meet with their student once a week, for approximately 45 minutes and provide one-on-one support. Volunteers receive instruction on how to tutor before they are matched with a child and the child's teacher will give you guidance and instruction as well. Tutoring times are VERY flexible - before school, during school or after school and we can work with your schedule to find a time that is convenient for you. Tutor training is scheduled for Wednesday, October 1 at White Oaks School, 1901 White Oak Way, San Carlos. Two training times are available: 8:30 AM - 10:15 AM or 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM. No RSVP is necessary. If you would like more information, please call Donna Becht, The Healthy Cities Program Coordinator at (650)802-4319 or e-mail at dbecht@cityofsancarlos.org. Thank you! We hope you will join us.
